The formation of phytoplankton productivity in the northern seas, which for most of the time are covered with ice, is connected with the composition of complicated synoptic, hydrodynamic, geochemical, ecological, and energy variations in the parameters of the marine medium. The problem of the formalized description of the kinetic processes of formation of vertical distributions of phytoplankton biomass is formulated and is solved. It is shown that the ice-water ergocline plays an important role in the formation of the biological productivity of the northern seas as well as the community of algae that infiltrates the snow and ice. Simulation model of the formation of the vertical structure of the marine ecological community is proposed and is studied. Keywords: carbon dioxide, ice-water ergocline, marine medium, phytoplankton, productivity, snow, model, nutrient elements
