A decision on the level of potential risk from a possible change in the environment can be made based on the analysis of prehistory of such events and using the methods of predicting upcoming natural events. As a rule, risk assessment methods are based on statistical processing of data for parameters of the processes whose interaction may cause undesirable changes in environmental characteristics This paper addresses the issues of risk assessment and safety in relation to the monitoring process and the prediction of natural disasters. To this end, the technology of the global information system model applied to the above risk and safety issues is explained and evaluated.
