A new approach to the construction of a complex of mathematical and software tools for ecological monitoring of the environment based on multichannel registration of radiometric information and its analysis and qualitative interpretation is considered and justified. To solve the direct and inverse problems, simple analytical relations are obtained that relate the main radiophysical parameters with the parameters of the medium. The case of a homogeneous medium with an estimate of the operating frequency range is considered in detail, as well as the cases of a medium with exponential and polynomial absorption.
