Аннотация

The present-day interest in heat transport by phonons in nanostructured mesoscopic systems isdetermined by the general tendency of electro-acoustic devices to shrink in size because of the appearance of advanced technologies which allow one to prepare samples with almost atomic precision and to measure the thermal conduction of mesosystems comparable in size to the dominant phonon wavelength at temperatures of about 1 K (~100 nm). Of prime importance in operation of such devices is the temperature regime. In this connection particular attention is now paid to the synthesis and study of thermocrystals, i.e. nanostructured materials in which the heat flow can be controlled . Since it is believed that phonon lattices with a wide band of forbidden frequencies in the spectrum region above 10^{11}Hz may form the basis of thermocrystals, the problem of creating such systems with an acceptable price-quality relationship is very urgent.
