Аннотация

The paper examines the possibility of burned area detection by Sentinel 1 radar images in Zabaikalsky Kraj in April and Buryatia in August 2015. Burned areas are found due to environmental changes in the areas of fire burning. It's shown a seasonal variation of the backscatter coefficient and texture features in burned areas compared to areas not exposed to fire. Burned area can be detected in the joint use of changes in the backscatter coefficient and Haralick's texture feature 'contrast'. It is shown that the RoM method (ratio of means) is able to identify areas after the fire, while unsupervised clustering, dual polarization, texture segmentation are not possible to unambiguously interpret the classification results. A satellite imagery of ScanEx operational monitoring system "Kosmosnimki - Fires" served as additional information.
